Side Effects When You Quit Smoking
Day one: The first day is always the hardest and you may have intense cravings due to your brain missing the nicotine it used to have. You will probably have a dry mouth and find it very hard to concentrate as well as feeling dizzy and light headed. Headaches are also not uncommon.
Day two: You may feel restless and disorientated due to the carbon monoxide levels being back to normal in your body. Other symptoms on day two may include constipation or diarrhoea.
Day three: Cravings will become more frequent and strong through out day three. You may feel extremely grumpy and get irritated easily. Your sleeping pattern may become disturbed making it hard to get a good night sleep. Coughing and bringing up mucus may begin also.
After 2-3 weeks: A feeling of loss, being unmotivatied, and unhappiness are all very common at this stage. Coughing will start to stop or lessen.
